“VILLA CASA BLANCA” ON
STRADA MACCHIA
From Bari: total journey time 120 – 150 mins
The
airport is situated north of the city off the ringroad.
When you come out of the airport, follow the oneway system to
the roundabout, and follow signs for the Suprestrada (This is
the Foggia – Bari – Brindisi Road). Follow signs for Brindisi.
Keep on this road, you will see turn offs for Fasano,
Alberobello, Ostuni. As you come closer to Brindisi, the main
signs will change from Brindisi to Brindisi-Lecce. Keep
following signs for Lecce. *Go to the “On the Superstrada to
Lecce” section.
From Brindisi: total
journey time 65 – 80 mins
The
airport is situated in the north of the city, just off the
ringroad. From the Airport, join the main Bari-Brindisi
motorway by heading towards Brindisi and Lecce on the main
Superstrada.
*On the Superstrada to
Lecce
Follow signs for Lecce and the SS16. Take the
Tangenziale Est and follow directions for Maglie and Santa
Maria de Leuca. This is the ringroad around Lecce. Take
turn off for Maglie and the SS16. You will pass a Carrefour
Hypermarket at the turnoff for Cavallino. You will also pass
signs for Soleto and Corigliano D’Otranto. After the Corigliano
turnoff, the road will veer to the left and you will join the
main Maglie/Santa Maria de Leuca road. On the main road,
keep following signs for Maglie and Santa Leuca. Take the turn
off to the right for Maglie. The road will turn sharply to the
right and there will be lit signposted arrows. Follow the
road until you come to a large roundabout. Go straight on at
the roundabout, following signs for Gallipoli and Casarano.
You will soon come to a second roundabout. There will be signs
to the right for Cutrofiano. Instead, go straight on, following
signs for Gallipoli, Casarano and Collepasso. After about
5 to 10 mins driving, lots of roadside advertising you will come
to a third roundabout, with left signposting for Supersano and
right for Cutrofiano. Again, go straight on, following signs
for Collepasso and Gallipoli. After this roundabout, look out
for a signpost that indicates a right turn to Cutrofiano. Take
this right turn.
You are now on the
road to Cutrofiano. Our villa is 1.5 km on the left. Close to
our house, you will pass a group of houses together on the left,
with Big Palm trees at the front. After you pass these houses
you will veer left, and you will arrive at Villa Casa Blanca,
a white house with a long white wall stretching from the road
back about 150m. The gate is long, shiny and silver. There is
a silver intercom system and a blue light. There are SVEVIAPOL
stickers on the wall and Gate.
